Vegan is a noun used to refer to a person who does not use animal products: from leather products to their meat. It has been practised since aeons but has only become a trend recently. The term was first used in the UK in 1944, but a proper vegan community had already been soundly established in India 20 years prior. It’s a common misconception that India is a vegan country. We’re a lacto-vegan country. Our film industry has embraced the idea of veganism with open arms as they fight for the rights of animals while keeping up with the rules of pure veganism. You’d be surprised to learn who some of our vegan Bollywood actors are.
1. Shahid Kapoor
He was labelled as the ‘Hottest Vegetarian’ by People Magazine. His inspiration has been the book – Life Is Fair by Brian Hines. He credits his increased stamina to the decrease of dairy products in his diet. He recently launched his vegan fitness app, V-fit.
2. John Abraham
John Abraham is a strict follower of veganism. He fights for the rights of animals. For someone who’s known for his ripped physique, he has certainly proved every non-vegan out there. He believes you don’t need meat for protein.
3. Aamir Khan
