The title was quite a shocker wasn’t it, but it is actually true. Those who watch more porn on a regular basis are more likely to be bisexual, a new survey revealed. LGBTI people, in general, are also more likely to watch porn daily.

Porn site xHamster discovered these correlations based on an internal survey they conducted. Over 11,000 user participated, answering questions about their porn-watching habits, identity, and more.

The result that came was that most bisexual website visitors, 27.46 per cent, claimed to watch porn at least daily and sometimes several times per day.

23.01 per cent claimed to watch once a day, 19.73 per cent claimed to watch a few times per week, and 13.09 per cent claimed to watch once per week.

In contrast, heterosexual respondents were far less likely to visit porn sites daily, with most straight men viewing porn on average once per week.

xHamster in their press release stated that “There was a direct correlation between the amount of time a person spends watching porn, and whether or not they identified as bisexual. (It doesn’t seem to have an effect on gay identity — that stays in a pretty narrow range.)”

So what is it that there is a direct correlation between being bisexual and watching porn daily. Does that mean watching porn make you bisexual? The answer is an obvious no. Watching porn definitely doesn’t make you bisexual. So what about this correlation? The answer has been given by Alex Hawkins, the vice President of xHamster himself. He stated “Does watching a lot of porn make you gay? No, but it may make you realize you’re not entirely straight.” He further stated “bisexual and gay people both report greater frequency of viewing of porn, and a lower stigma associated with watching it… But we didn’t see any significant correlation between frequency of viewing, and gay identification.”

According to the survey, female viewers were also less straight than male viewers, with over 38 percent of women claiming to be bisexual, and over 6 per cent claiming to be gay.
