You are traveling because of your work demands or, it’s a holiday. Traveling can have various benefits like you meet new people and share your views, you experience a different culture, taste new cuisine, etc. It also helps you to keep your stress low. Now, these things are important but what about your fitness lifestyle? Can traveling be a hurdle to your fitness goals? Or it’s an easy way to sail through?
I have divided the plan into nutrition and training categories.
1. Nutrition while Traveling
We all know we like to keep things accurate and try not to do anything wrong when it comes to staying fit. But traveling is also important for us to enjoy our lives or for work. So if you’re dieting(fat loss phase) then I would say not be in fat loss phase when you traveling. It’s better not to diet when you’re out traveling. To see results you need to give 100% so it better to eat at your maintenance calories. Download some calorie tracker app and track your foods when you eating out. Try to carry whey, as its the best to get your protein in, carry some nuts, have fruits and vegetables, go for cereals easy way to get carbs in, etc.
In case you’re in a restaurant and you want to eat something delicious and still want to track it then go for foods which aren’t mixed. Like grilled chicken and mashed potato, barbecue grill pork, and rice etc. By looking at the meal you can easily judge how much quantity is there and you can track it on an app. I do this when I’m eating out or traveling. Now you must be thinking what about a person who is on a calorie surplus and facing a vacation ahead. Same goes for him or her. Eat at maintenance calories. You won’t be able to track down all your foods when you’re out of town, so it’s better to stick to maintenance. Now you can carry your weighing machine if you want to that’s totally up to you. Being 60-70% accurate during holidays is a good sign. In the end consistency matters over perfection.

2. Training while Traveling
In case if you’re living in a luxury or business hotel then you can use the hotel gym for your workout sessions. If you don’t have a gym in your hotel then you can go to any gym which is near around you. Google it, have a word with the gym staff and get some cheap deal for few days. If you don’t have any access to any gym then you can do some outdoor circuit workout with your body. Something like pull-ups, pushups, bodyweight squats, etc. Make sure you do some work to keep yourself active and fit.
In the end, try to stay hydrated always, get your easy foods like eggs, meats, fruits, and veggies, etc. Enjoy the moment what you are going to face don’t worry about your fitness lifestyle just follow the simple steps to remain on track while traveling.
