Have your amorous desires subdued a little? Is your sex drive lower than normal? It’s completely natural for you to not be in the mood every now and then. We’re only humans and stress and tension is built into our lives. But if you have no or low sex drive, then it might be a matter of concern.
Your sex drive can be in the negatives due to hormonal reasons. But sometimes, everyday routine consumes our desires and love life too. Here are some of the reasons why your libido isn’t how it used to be:
1. Overeating
It’s no secret that having a full stomach is equivalent to having absolutely no libido. Personally, if I were to engage in sexual activities, I would do it before eating lunch/dinner. So you can imagine what overeating might do to you. It will make you feel sluggish and full thus hindering your love life. Cut back on high-saturated fats and sweet dishes and you’ll be fine in no time.
2. Separate your home and your house
Stress is a real mood killer. When you bring your work to your home, you’re not only stressed the entire day, but you wake up groggy. This not only ruins your sex life but your health and work as well. Leave your work at your office, even if you work from home. Dedicate an entirely separate section of your house/apartment to your work. The moment you leave it, you also leave behind your work.
3. Getting too much work done too late
Quite honestly, 2 and 3 go hand-in-hand. If you’re working till the moment you fall asleep, your battery has been drained. Your body can expend little to no energy for boogie-ing under the sheets. Plus, staring for too long at the computer screen can mess with your sleep quality.
4. Bickering all the time
Wait, wait, I’m not talking about which ice-cream flavour is better – strawberry and coffee (coffee would definitely win the bet). I am talking about major quarrels. Something that screams – “I saw you talking to your ex last night!” or “Are you even serious about this relationship?” Playful fights only set the mood. But, fights which result in an increased level of insecurity and jealousy will prove to be an obstacle between your intimacy with your partner.
5. There exists no variety
Try to kill the monotony by trying different positions. Maybe introduce dirty talk or sex toys into your life. Vanilla sex can be great but after a certain period of time, you subconsciously stop looking forward to your quality time in the bedroom.
